PASSING THE DAYTONA SPEEDWAY ON OUR WAY TO THE AIRPORT

ST. AUGUSTINE SUNDAY, JULY 20th

ON SUNDAY WE RENTED CARS AND DROVE UP THE COAST TO ST. AUGUSTINE
We checked out a couple of beach's on the way

WE SETTLED IN AT THE FAIRFIELD HOTEL
AND THEN VISITED THE OLDEST CITY IN AMERICA - ST. AUGUSTINE
IN FRONT OF THE STEPS TO THE MUSEUM AND INSIDE THE MUSEUM

CASTILLO DE SAN MARCO
Castillo de San Marcos was for many years the northernmost outpost of Spain's vast New World empire.  It is the oldest masonry for and the best-preserved example of a Spanish colonial fortification in the continental United States

THE FAMILY GOT IN FREE BECAUSE WE HAD A SENIOR PASS TO NATIONAL PARKS AND HISTORICAL PLACES (wish we would have known that in San Juan instead of taking the tour)

COAT OF ARMS CHISELED INTO THE STONE

WE VISITED THE OLD CITY, WE EVEN SAT IN FOR A FEW MINUTES DURING SUNDAY MASS.  THIS IS THE OLDEST CHURCH IN ST. AUGUSTINE

THE OLDEST HOUSE IN ST. AUGUSTINE, DATING FROM THE EARLY 1700's
