DEER HUNT/INDIAN SUMMER IN OCTOBER

OUR TREE IN THE FRONT YARD. I LOVE THE GOLDEN LEAVES
AGAINST THE BRIGHT BLUE SKY
THE WEATHER HAS BEEN SO NICE MY FLOWERS ARE AUTUMN COLORS AND SO I SURROUNDED THEM WITH MY GARDEN SQUASHES.

SHANNON GAVE ME THE FLAG.....IT SAYS: "HAPPY HAUNTING"

THE BOYS ARE HOME FROM THE HUNT...NO VENISON THIS YEARTHE WEATHER WASN'T TOO BAD UNTIL THIS MORNING........THE GUYS DECIDED THAT THEY HAD HAD ENOUGH AND HEADED HOME

WHEN JOHN AND BRANDT CAME HOME THE WEATHER TURNED WET AND COLD, SNOW WAS ON THE GROUND FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS BUT WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS WE WERE BACK TO THAT BEAUTIFUL INDIAN SUMMER WEATHER. WE WERE VERY THANKFUL THAT THE COLD DIDN'T LAST TOO LONG. WE KNOW THAT WHEN IT DECIDES TO KICK IN AND STAY WE WILL BE IN THE COLD FOR SEVERAL MONTHS.

We had Lizard Guts (thin spaghetti noodles), Monkey Brains (elbow noodles) served with Vampire Blood (plain tomato sauce) and Bat Droppings (spaghetti sauce with ground sausage & hamburger), we also had Witches Teeth (corn)

(the five young grand kids ate at the counter, the rest of the family ate at the table)

THE FIRST OF OCTOBER

A WEEKEND IN EPHRAIM
John stayed with his mom and dad (Grandpa Bill & Grandma Ellen) on Thursday and took them to the hospital in Provo for Grandmas eye surgery on Friday. All went well with the surgery and she was feeling pretty good for just having the operation. Shannon and the boys drove me down to Ephraim that night. We took the ATV's out for a little while that evening and the next day.

PAUL JR. BROKE HIS ANKLE IN THREE PLACES. HE HAD SURGERY AND THE DOCTORS PUT IN SCREWS AND PLATES INTO HIS ANKLE. HE STAYED WITH US FOR A WEEK RE- COOPERATING. HIS DAD CAME INTO TOWN FOR GUARD AND ROBIN CAME UP FROM BYU TO HELP MOVE PAUL JR. BACK INTO HIS DORMS AT THE U. WE ENJOYED TACKING CARE OF PAUL AND ALSO HAVING PART OF THEIR FAMILY FOR A VISIT.

SEPT. 25-26th...Continuation of our trip with the grandkids

OVER NIGHT AT THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS
LOGAN, UTAH
What a treat it was to stay at this hotel! Several years back John and I stayed at a motel right in down town Logan. It had an enclosed pool, but you had to walk from your room outside to get to it. It was an older motel, but I was happy that it had a pool for the kids. I was caught off guard when John drove right past it and continued on. We drove a few miles down the road and there it was, a new and clean hotel just waiting for us with an indoor pool, hot tub and continental breakfast, who could ask for more. The kids were so excited! They loved looking out our window at the cows in the pasture, that's pretty unique. I loved it because of the cookies always waiting for us at the front desk, actually that made all of us very happy. POOL AREA
