HAPPY 4thTH OF JULY!
IN THE MORNING WE HAD THE KIDS PUT THEIR HAND PRINTS ON OUR TENT
WE DECIDED TO SPEND THE DAY IN JACKSON HOLE
WE FOUND AN UPSTAIRS PIZZA PARLOR AND HAD LUNCH
BRANDT SUGGESTED THAT WE DIVIDE AND CONQUER WHILE EXPLORING THE STORES IN JACKSON HOLE. BRANDT AND SOUPIE HAD TAYLER, COLLIN AND DRESDEN WENT WITH NATALIE AND JAY, AND JOHN AND I HEADED OUT WITH SYDNEY AND LOGAN
WE STUMBLED ACROSS SOME UNUSUAL CARVINGS MADE OUT OF ELK ANTLERS
WE TOOK THE BACK ROAD HOME THROUGH MOOSE COUNTRY,
YES THIS IS A MOOSE ENJOYING HIS DINNER
NONE OF US HAD SEEN ANY BEARS WHILE IN YELLOWSTONE UNTIL THE LAST NIGHT. WE WERE SO EXCITED TO FINALLY SEE SOME BEARS. WE COULD SEE THEM VERY PLAINLY WITH THE BINOCULARS, BUT THE CAMERA DIDN'T PICK THEM UP TOO WELL.
LOOK CLOSELY AND YOU CAN SEE THREE BLACK SPOTS, A MOM AND TWO ADOLESCENT GRIZZLIES ON THE SIDE OF THE HILL
LAST FAMILY GATHERING AT OUR CAMPSITE, THE KIDS GOT RED, WHITE AND BLUE GLOW STICKS TO CELEBRATE THE 4th. OUR FIREWORKS FOR THE EVENING WAS THE MOST SPECTACULAR BLOOD RED MOON SHINING IT'S COLOR DOWN ONTO THE LAKE. THIS PICTURE DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE. IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SITE OF THE WHOLE YELLOWSTONE TRIP. WHAT A WAY TO END OUR FAMILY ADVENTURES!
I ADDED THIS PICTURE OF WHERE WE SAW THE MOON SHINING BETWEEN THE TREES ONTO THE LAKE THE NIGHT BEFORE
THE GRAND KIDS SAYING GOOD BYE TO YELLOWSTONE
