TAKING THE TRAIN TO SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA

AMTRAK TO GO
MARCH 3rd & 4th
John has wanted to take a train ride for a long time so we decided to take a few days and go over Donner's pass in the winter. We heard that it was a beautiful ride, and we were not disappointed. This gentleman who is a volunteer gave us some interesting facts about the water sheds, the train sheds and Donner's pass.

THE SNOW DRIFTS WERE BEAUTIFUL

OUR GUIDE TOLD US ABOUT THE OBSERVATION POINT (CLOSE TO THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN). THIS IS WHERE THEY COULD SEE ALL THE SHEDS AND WHEN A SHED WAS ON FIRE THEY COULD GET HELP QUICKLY (THIS WAS WHEN THE SHEDS WERE MADE OF WOOD)
