TUESDAY, JULY 28th
CORTEZ, COLORADO
KOA CAMPGROUND

AT LEAST HERE WE HAD SOME GRASS & WE COULD EVEN ROAST MARSHMALLOWS

We stopped into the Welcome Center in the city of
Cortez to pick up tickets for the Mesa Verde tours. The kids were given gift bags filled with shampoo, tooth paste &
deodorant samples. They loved their
deodorant and proceeded to put it all over their bodies.

After they lathered themselves in the
deodorant they went to the pool to wash off.

We were lucky to have a basketball court close by our camp site.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29
thMESA VERDE
We saw wild horses in the park

Last minute idea........going to
Walmart the night before and buying $3.00 T-shirts and stenciling Mesa Verde on them........stayed up all night in the tent stenciling, but it was worth it. Everywhere we went we had people complimenting us and also recognizing the kids as we went on the different tours. We would here a lot of people say "Hey, theirs the Mesa Verde Kids"

Another view

The grand kids were so good about listening and following the rules.

Dresden's fingers are showing the indentations that were made by the Ancestral Puebloans as they scaled the walls of the rocks

On our way out Collin finds another indentation
